Why aren't you making new Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort bookings?
When we started this business we booked direct with Disney. In 2015 they made a policy change that meant international agents could no longer book direct with their travel company in the USA. After exploring various avenues, we decided that none of the local booking options available fit with our business model and so we've put that side of things on hold for the time being. Using the resources on our site should help you to navigate through booking yourselves and we're usually pretty open to answering some questions if you reach out to us.
Is Magical Mouse Holidays an ATAS participant?
As of July 1, 2014 travel agents in Australia were no longer required to hold a state licence or be members of the Travel Compensation Fund (TCF). Prior to this date, Magical Mouse Holidays held a full NSW Travel Agent licence and were members of the TCF, which meant we were qualified to sell international travel products and our business had been assessed as solvent. When these requirements for travel agents were abolished, the AFTA Travel Agent Scheme (ATAS) was introduced, a voluntary industry accreditation program. Being a small business we have opted not to join this program due to the cost involved in becoming accredited.
What fees do you charge?
None! We want you to get the best value for your dollar from your Disney trips. We make ends meet with trail commissions paid by suppliers and affiliates. If you're considering purchasing any of the products we have recommended we'd love it if you could use our links or get in touch with us. For no extra cost to you we earn a few dollars to keep up and running.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
Most definitely! The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade puts it perfectly "Travel insurance is as essential as your passport, regardless of your travel destination. If you can't afford travel insurance, you can't afford to travel!"
Why do you have affiliate links on your site?
It's our hope that at some time in the future the local Disney team will develop a way to book direct from here in Australia. The affiliate links on our site help to generate a little income to cover the costs incurred by our business while we wait for that to happen (if it does).
Can I pay you to plan the details of my trip?
We did offer a paid planning service for a short time in 2016 but interest wasn't strong enough to support the time required to stay on top of all the changes that take place in Disney theme parks. At this stage, it isn't something we are offering.
