Harmony Barber Shop - LJ's First Haircut

If you've been reading our trip report up until this point, you will have probably noticed that LJ's hair was ridiculously long by this point in the trip. So long that he had been mistaken for a girl a few times during the trip!

Before we left for the trip I had many people commenting regularly on his need for a haircut but I had a very good reason for holding off. I was determined for him to have his first haircut in the Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom. Not just any haircut though, it had to be his first haircut (and whilst I know I could have trimmed his hair at home and still claimed it was his first haircut it just wouldn't have been as magical to me).

As is typical of this trip we were running late for our appointment and I didn't have time to wait for these people to move before snapping a pic of the outside of the Barber Shop. Appointments aren't necessary here, they do accept walk ups but as with anything, you're in for a shorter wait if you have an appointment.

As it turns out, LJ's hairdresser was waiting for him to arrive, booster seat and stickers at the ready.

Cute infant size cape and snacks in hand (for distraction purposes) and the haircut is under way.

Epcot Day 2 - January 2014

The 22nd of January brought us back to Epcot and we still didn't manage to get to the park by 8:30am.

At 8:45am the wait at the tapstiles was a lot shorter than a few days earlier, so it appeared that the MLK weekend crowds had finally all gone back to school and work.

This was one of the coldest days of our trip and we were rugged up accordingly. Jackets, beanies, gloves, it was about now I was happy that I prepared for the worst.

We entered the park all together and then split up into two groups so LJ could see something before his nap.

He took Daddy and Nanny to meet Mickey and his pals at the Epcot Character Spot. I have no idea what my Mum did to earn such an evil eye from LJ.

Walt Disney World Dining Review - Whispering Canyon Cafe Dinner

Whispering Canyon Cafe is found at the Wilderness Lodge and is one of my must-do restaurants in Walt Disney World.  Disney describe it as "an interactive western-themed experience with fun, games and food galore". The food isn't anything fancy but their description is spot on, the meal is great fun and you have no hope of leaving hungry!

We arrived at the restaurant right on schedule and checked in at a very uncrowded check in podium. The side of the restaurant is open to the lobby, so you can't miss it when you arrive at the gorgeous resort.

They make sure to warn you that things will get a little loud and there's lots of fun to be had. Don't expect to sit and enjoy a peaceful meal here!

While we were waiting for our table I snapped some shots of the lobby. The lobby here is absolutely beautiful and I love grabbing a chair and just taking it all in while I wait for my table.
